The Waters Beneath Words
All things are moving, all things are flowing. Beneath the solid world of form is a
vast and subtle fluidity that shapes itself into moments, only to flow on. When
we listen to rivers or feel the silent power of the ocean, we are hearing the world
as it really is, a deep and unending exchange of matter, a ceaseless
transformation.
And perhaps we, too, are this flowing, this ungraspable, continuous river of
experience, visible only for a moment before it changes once more.
What we call permanence, solidity, form, these are but moments in the larger
movement of being. And so, when we listen deeply to what moves underneath our
chatter, to the currents of understanding that come before thought, we find ourselves
flowing along that same course, part of a life that transcends the narrow shores of
the self.
